Lanark County Children’s Services is responsible for the administration of four types of childcare funding under the Day Nurseries Act (DNA):
Fee Subsidy provides financial assistance towards the cost of licensed child care programs or licensed home-based care (full or part-time, before and after school, nursery school, etc.). more...
Wage Subsidy provides funding to improve salaries and benefits for employees of licensed child care programs, to make licensed programs more affordable and to enhance staff stability. Licensed child care operators can apply for wage subsidy funding.
Resource Centre provides a range of support services to parents and caregivers of young children in the community. more...

There are different types of child care options to help meet the needs of parents, families and children. You can arrange to have full-time child care, or part-time care available within the County of Lanark/Town of SmithsFalls. Child care services are available in both centres and in private homes, and can be licensed and monitored or through your own private, informal arrangements with a neighbour, relative or friend. There are a number of things to consider when choosing the child care setting for your child.
